Meet Sean, the founder and driving force behind The Fixed Physio. Sean is a strength coach & physical therapist born in Ottawa, Canada and has helped countless individuals overcome their physical injuries, reclaim their athleticism and return to the activities they love - pain free. Sean brings a wealth of personal experience with ankle and knee injury as his journey into the world of physiotherapy is intertwined with his own remarkable story of triumph over sports related injury.
Sean holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Acadia University where he competed as a member of the university’s football & basketball teams. From 2011-2015, Sean was the top male dual sport student athlete in Canada, helping lead both teams to conference championships. During his 3rd year at Acadia, Sean suffered what most medical professionals would consider a ‘career ending ankle injury’ during football practice, which ultimately required three surgeries to repair. Against all odds, Sean returned to the field & court for his senior season with 12 inches of metal and screws in his left leg. Remarkably, Sean not only recovered but also achieved career-best performances in both sports his senior season.
In 2018, after starting his Masters of Physiotherapy at University of Ottawa, Sean’s resilience was tested again when he tore the ACL in his right knee while playing basketball for the Gee-Gees. Undeterred, Sean underwent additional surgery to address this injury and ultimately returned to the court, helping his team achieve a 3rd overall national ranking and a spot in the National Final 8 tournament the following season.
Sean’s personal experience with injury and recovery has fueled his commitment to helping others overcome their own physical challenges. Since acquiring his CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) certification and completing his Masters degree in 2019, Sean has worked with a diverse range of clients, including professional NBA and CFL athletes, professional dancers, BMX bikers, and individuals from all walks of life seeking to regain their strength and mobility.
Sean played basketball professionally in Asia, Europe & Canada from 2020-2024 and most recently worked for Ottawa Blackjacks in the Canadian Elite Basketball League as their Director of Performance.
Sean currently works in the NBA as an Athletic Performance Coach for the OKC Thunder and their G-League affiliate, the OKC Blue.
